An Orcwand is a specific type of magical weapon favored by, you guessed it, orcs and the goblinoid races. At least in my sandbox they do. Since orcs (and the other lesser races) usually don’t possess an aptitude for wielding magic, they favor weapons that allow them to hurl brutal magic on the battlefield. Thus, the creation of the Orcwand.

Obviously, due to the cost and arcane prowess it takes to create magic weapons, usually only the most powerful of orcs, such as Generals, Chiefs and Commanders wield these weapons.  But even then, they wield only the lesser versions. (I mean, what sane person is going to trust putting such an expensive weapon into the hands of an orc, General or not?)  However, since the design has proven so sound and effective, often more advanced creatures have taken to the practice of carrying an Orcwand as a secondary weapon.

(Now that I think of it, the mental imagery of an orc barbarian, or any other savage warrior for that matter, twirling dual-wielded Orcwands would be an awesome sight indeed!)
